The Stars of Egypt™ video series was produced by Hossam Ramzy and Aischa, and consists of seven tapes (over eight hours) of the dance scenes (with, of course, the music) from the golden era of Egyptian cinema (the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's). The following was written by Hossam and Aischa:

"The Stars of Egypt''™ is a rare and unique series of dance-videos, providing you for the first time with an almost complete compilation of old black & white dance-clips from Egypt's most famous dancers like Naima Akef, Samya Gamal, Taheyya Karioka as well as many others.

Altogether they have written the history of Egyptian Dance, showing the authentic heartfelt character and beauty of this ancient and so often misinterpreted art.

You will be amazed by their individual styles, fascinated by the changing fashion of the costumes and you will meet many of the nowadays "oldies" of great musical dance "hits".

Naima Akef was born to a famous Egyptian circus family, who supported her career in dancing, singing and acting. She was an all-round-talent, and her expressive and soulful style presented an opportunity to musical cross-culturalization in a "fusical" melting-pot!

Taheyya Karioka started her famous dancing career as a group-member of Badiaa Massabni's troupe, and her unique interpretation of the Brazilian "Karioka"- dance gave her her name. She was the common denominator in the most famous dance and musical films. Until her recent passing she was performing in theatre and films.

Samya Gamal had her debut with Badiaa Massabni's troupe. She even made it to Hollywood, and her classical and elegant dance-style is still unmatched. In collaboration with the famous Lebanese composer and singer Farid al-Atrash she provided us with some of the most beautiful dance-compositions.

This is a compilation of various great dancers who made it to the cinema screen, but did not all achieve the same fame as Naima Akef, Samya Gamal or Taheyya Karioka.
